TRACE Consulting Meets BFSA to Strengthen Bangladesh's Food Safety and Regulatory Systems
Strategic Dialogue Between TRACE Consulting and BFSA Focuses on Modernizing Bangladesh's Food Safety Ecosystem
TRACE Consulting recently met with the senior officials of the BFSA (বাংলাদেশ নিরাপদ খাদ্য কর্তৃপক্ষ - Bangladesh Food Safety Authority) to discuss opportunities for strengthening Bangladesh's food safety ecosystem and regulatory framework.
Mr. Md. Shafiqul Islam, Chairman of BFSA, chaired the meeting, which was attended by senior BFSA officials and a TRACE Consulting delegation led by CEO Fuad M. Khalid Hossen.
The discussion focused on strengthening sanitary and phytosanitary (SPS) systems, modernizing laboratory and regulatory capabilities, improving food safety governance, and enhancing compliance with international standards to facilitate trade.
During the meeting, Mimma Afrin, Technical Lead (Laboratory Strengthening) at TRACE Consulting, presented strategic ideas on international collaboration, development partnerships, grant opportunities, and innovative initiatives to further strengthen BFSA's institutional capacity and support Bangladesh's evolving food safety agenda.
