The U.S.–Bangladesh Agreement on Reciprocal Trade (ART) offers Bangladesh benefits that extend well beyond tariffs and market access. Its provisions can help accelerate trade facilitation, customs modernization, risk-based border management, science-based SPS systems, digital trade, regulatory reform and investment facilitation. By advancing pre-arrival processing, paperless trade, the Bangladesh Single Window, internationally recognized certification and more predictable regulatory procedures, the Agreement can reduce trade costs, strengthen supply chains and improve the business environment. Effective implementation can also enhance the credibility of Bangladeshi exports, attract investment and strengthen the country's competitiveness and integration into global value chains.
