About Rubayat E Shams Anik

Rubayat E Shams Anik is a policy researcher and project management professional with more than 5 years of experience in international development, think tanks, applied policy research, and multi-country stakeholder engagement. He has worked with organizations including IPAG Asia Pacific, the United Nations’ SDSN, CUTS International, the World Health Organization (WHO), multiple G20 Presidencies, Azeemi Technologies Limited, and Dharana Digital Pty.

His work spans research design, policy analysis, concept development, policy briefs, conference proceedings, donor-oriented proposal support, and coordination across governments, multilaterals, academia, and the private sector, linked to platforms such as the G20, G7, GTIPA, ICSD, and UN networks. He led core research in the Bilateral Trade Agreement Review Project for the Ministry of Commerce, Bangladesh (covering Nepal, Bhutan, Sri Lanka, and South Korea), drawing on 200+ KIIs, 15+ FGDs, and advanced economic modeling to identify mutually beneficial trade options ahead of LDC graduation.

Anik has organized and supported major international events, including the G20 conference “G20 and AI: Connecting the Dotted Lines Between Technology and Humanity” under the G20 Indonesian presidency in 2022, the G20 Brazil 2024 conference on climate finance and development, and the WHO-backed national awareness campaign “Tinu Minu and the Superbug,” while also contributing to digital campaigns, institutional communications, and AI-enabled content strategies. He has co-authored publications on Indo-Pacific security, digital inclusion, philanthropic engagement in SDGs, and Bangladesh–Korea trade, and written proceedings for the “G20 and AI” conference.

He has collaborated with ministries, think tanks, and universities such as the Ministry of Commerce of Bangladesh, the Indonesian Ministry of ICT, the Indonesian Ministry of Finance, RIS India, ERIA, the University of Melbourne, Deakin, Monash, Harvard, and the University of Pennsylvania and engaged with the ADB, the World Bank, GIZ, Oxfam, the WHO, UN bodies, and multiple diplomatic missions. 

Anik has spoken or moderated at forums hosted by CUTS International’s Forum Launch alongside the BIMSTEC Secretary General in 2026; an interview on the Belt and Road Initiative at CRI Bangla - CGTN in 2023; the 2nd International Forum on Democracy by the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences (CASS) in Beijing in 2023; IFDaD in Rome in 2023; the GTIPA Summit in Seoul in 2022; and the G20 Indonesia in 2022. Earlier, he served as network manager for UN SDSN Bangladesh, coordinating 40+ member institutions, and worked as business development team lead at Azeemi Technologies Limited, managing international business development across the UK, Saudi Arabia, and Kenya.

He holds a BBA from the Institute of Business Administration (IBA), University of Dhaka.
