Abu Saleh Muhammad Saifullah

Abu Saleh Muhammad Saifullah is a project operations and development management professional with more than 20 years of experience in planning, coordinating, and implementing large-scale development initiatives. As Director and Chief Operating Officer of TRACE Consulting, he leads operational management, project implementation, and institutional coordination across TRACE’s development portfolio.

Saifullah specializes in project management, technical coordination, and process automation. He has overseen complex implementations, including Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS) and automated reporting workflows for government agencies such as the Bangladesh Food Safety Authority (BFSA), the national food safety regulator; the Bangladesh Standards and Testing Institution (BSTI), the national standards body; and the Department of Fisheries, the government agency responsible for fisheries administration and regulation. His work has been instrumental in advancing laboratory modernization, improving reporting processes and strengthening digital service delivery across these institutions.

Before joining TRACE, Saifullah served as technical adviser for laboratory improvement under the U.S. Department of Agriculture-funded Bangladesh Trade Facilitation (BTF) project. In that role, he coordinated technical teams, supported process simplification and automation, and worked with government agencies and international stakeholders on laboratory modernization and trade facilitation activities.

Saifullah holds bachelor’s and master’s degrees in sociology from the University of Dhaka and an MBA from Northern University Bangladesh.

His academic background is complemented by multilingual proficiency, with native fluency in Bengali, professional working proficiency in English, and a basic understanding of French.

He has received professional training in project management, activity planning, and results-chain development. He is also an IRCA-certified internal auditor for FSSC 22000, an international food safety management system certification scheme.
