About Sushanta Kumer Sarker

Sushanta Kumer Sarker is a results management and private sector development specialist with over 18 years of professional experience across Bangladesh, Malawi, Nigeria, and the Solomon Islands. He has extensive expertise in monitoring, evaluation, and learning (MEL); economic analysis; impact assessment; and market systems development, with strong experience supporting large-scale donor-funded programs implemented by international organizations including the World Bank Group (IFC), Adam Smith International, USAID, UNITAID, Swisscontact, and IMC Worldwide.

Sushanta has developed and managed DCED-compliant results measurement systems for complex private sector development programs focusing on agriculture, trade competitiveness, investment climate, infrastructure, climate resilience, health, and manufacturing sectors. His work has included designing theories of change, log frames, impact evaluation methodologies, value-for-money analysis, outcome harvesting, donor reporting systems, and adaptive management frameworks.

He served for more than six years with the International Finance Corporation (IFC), a World Bank group, as a results measurement consultant supporting advisory services programs in Bangladesh. In this role, he contributed to program supervision, impact evaluations, compliance cost savings assessments, donor reporting, and strategic program learning for investment climate and trade competitiveness initiatives.

Currently, Sushanta is serving as the Results Management Lead for the Malawi Trade & Investment Programme (Value Chain Component), funded by the FCDO and implemented by Adam Smith International, UK. In this role, he leads program-wide results management, impact assessment, attribution analysis, and evidence-based decision-making processes.

Sushanta holds an EMBA from BRAC University and both bachelor's and master's degrees in statistics from Jahangirnagar University, Bangladesh. He is highly skilled in both qualitative and quantitative research methods and has successfully led numerous international consulting assignments and evaluations across multiple sectors and countries.
